| 缩写简介 | Republic of Singapore (founded 1965)，新加坡共和国。新加坡于1824年沦为英国殖民地。1926年与马六甲、摈榔屿合并为英“海峡殖民地”。1942年2月—1945年8月被日本占领。 日本投降后英国恢复殖民统治，战后新加坡人民开展争取独立的斗争。1958年8月英国宣布给予新加坡自治地位。1959年6月3日成立了新加坡自治邦，英国仍保留国防、外交、修宪等权力。1963年9月16日新作为一个州并入马来西亚联邦。1965年8月，英国与新、马在伦敦签订《新加坡独立的协定》，承认新加坡为独立的主权国家。8月9日，新加坡退出马来西亚联邦，建立新加坡共和国。10月，加入英联邦。新加坡长期以来由人民行动党执政。 |
